Information

A good spray tan is just as much in your hands as it is in mine. Here is some important info on pre/post tan care, product recommendations, tips for long lasting tans and appointment information.

How to make your tan last.

  • Use these clean products in general or at least weeks leading up to your spray tan and the weeks after to ensure a good base for the tan to last, and for the tan to fade evenly (NOT Dove, Palmolive etc). Using body wash and moisturisers that contain extra chemicals such as fragrance or colouring can strip your skin causing your skin to crack, not last or not grab at all.

All products available at Chemist Warehouse or I can be purchased online.

    Body Wash:

    • MOOGOO Natural Milk Body Wash
    • CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser
    • QV gentle wash
    • Cetaphil Ultra Gentle Refreshing Body wash

    Moisturiser:

    • Use creams not lotions.
    • QV cream
    • Cerave moisturising cream
    • E45 cream

  • Weeks leading up to your tan:

    • Start using the correct products morning and night to keep your skin moisturised with no chemical build up.

    • Avoid sun exposure as sun damage (peeling of skin) can sometimes only become visible once spray tan is applied to the skin even weeks later.

  • • Do all beauty treatments such as nails, brows, wash hair, lashes, facials etc.

    • Shave/wax body

    • Exfoliate your skin well, especially if you have old tan on. Exfoliating mitts are a great option. If washing hair day before, exfoliate after to ensure all residue is off skin.

  • • Bronzed Up Is a home salon. If the drive way is free, feel free to always park there. It allows for 3 cars so park to one side if you can.

    • The salon is located in the garage, enter at all times through the glass doors which will lead you to the waiting room. Make yourself at home, Nicole will grab you when she’s done with her last client in the tanning room.

    • Shower before your appointment (try at least an hour before) but if earlier please try to use luke warm water.

    • Arrive with bare skin (no deodorant, moisturiser on skin) If you need moisturiser on your face you can do a light layer of a clean product.

    • Wear dark, loose clothing to your appointment. Cotton is the best choice of fabric. Oversized t shirts are a great option for summer. Dressing gowns a great option for winter. Please do not wear silk as it can swipe off the tan. Loose pants, pj’s are a great option too.

  • • Avoid getting wet/sweating after your spray tan

    • If your spray tan looks marked from a seat belt etc, that will rinse off after your first shower and is just the bronzer on top.

    • Shower after discussed time using only water, no soap, rinse until water runs clear roughly 60 seconds.

    • After your first rinse shower, wait 8 hours until you can have your second shower using body wash and start moisturising.

    • Pat dry with towel don’t rub.

    • Avoid swimming, hot/long baths and showers, saunas to ensure your tan lasts.

    • Try to shower only once a day, moisturise as soon as you get out the shower.

    • Moisturise twice a day.

    • Stay hydrated! Dehydration causes dry skin and cracking.

  • • Please wear clothes that cover you as much as possible (trackies, hoodie, socks, umbrella) and park on drive way.

  • All bookings will require a $25 deposit online for booking confirmation. The $25 is NON refundable, although it can be transferred/rescheduled via the booking confirmation email within 3 hours of your appointment time. The reasoning behind this is I understand last minute things pop up/sickness - 3 hours gives me enough time to advertise and cover the spot. The $25 deposit is non transferable within 3 hours of your appointment, this covers the spot. Thank you.

FAQ’s

  • How many days before an event should I get tanned?

2 days before is ideal. If you can only do 3 days before that is fine so long as you take care of it following tan tips and products. A day before or day of is also do-able, just more risk of it transferring onto your clothes.

  • How long does the spray tan last?

This all depends on how well you take care of it, and your lifestyle. If you're moisturising well and using the correct products, the tan will usually last 1-2 weeks.

  • I'm not sure what colour to book for.. what should I choose?

I can assess your skin in person and we can decide colour depth. So just book for whatever you think and let me know at your appointment you are unsure so we can find the perfect colour for you!

  • What do I wear post-tan? Can I go nude?

Usually the girls wear undies or a g string and that's all! No bra. You are more than welcome to go nude. Please keep in mind you can wear as little or as much as you want to. As long as you are comfortable.

  • Can I get a spray tan whilst pregnant?

Always ask your doctor first, but spray tan is known to be safe for pregnancies. It is important you do your own research. I always suggest wearing a mask. I have spray tanned multiple pregnant ladies.

  • Do you do mobile appointments?

    Unfortunately not any more!

  • Can I get a spray tan if I have eczema?

Yes. Follow tan tips and product recommendations leading up to and after tan. I recommend doing a light/medium tan first, we can put barrier cream on any aggravated spots. We can also do a patch test spray for free if you’re worried about a reaction.

  • How do I spray tan if breastfeeding?

We can avoid nipple area and I can give you a wipe to ensure there’s no residue there after the tan. If you’re worried about leaking, you can bring some tape and tissues or pads to tape over the nipple area.
